VAHLE donates to children's and youth hospice in Unna
Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG shows social commitment: In a Christmas donation campaign, the company donates 7,500 euros to the Ambulant Children's and Youth Hospice Service (AKHD) in the Unna district. VAHLE employees contributed a total of 2,873 euros and 30 gift vouchers to this generous sum.
Paul Vahle GmbH & Co KG is supporting the outpatient children's and youth hospice service (AKHD) in the Unna district with a donation of 7,500 euros. The employees of the Kamen-based family business also took part in the campaign and collected 2,873 euros and 30 gift vouchers in the run-up to Christmas. This amount was then rounded up to the total sum by the system provider for mobile industrial applications. The hospice will use the money to finance meetings and discussions for children and young people with life-shortening illnesses and their families. The symbolic handover of the cheque took place yesterday.
"The turn of the year is usually accompanied by a look into the future. This time is often particularly challenging for seriously ill children and young people and their families. That's why we are supporting the children's and young people's hospice service in Unna with our donation," says Achim Dries, Managing Director of Paul Vahle GmbH & Co.
Instead of an employee Advent calendar, the Kamen-based company and its employees decided to make a donation to the hospice service. The outpatient hospice service for children and young people accompanies young people with life-shortening illnesses and their families on their difficult journey. From the time of diagnosis until after the death of the children, the AKHD offers a wide range of support to give strength to those affected. In addition to self-help services and grief counseling, this includes family breakfasts, one-day seminars and other opportunities for those affected to meet and talk, offering a break from everyday life.
"Giving and doing good is fun. Our employees also wanted to be part of this and took part in the donation campaign," says Dries. To this end, the family-run company set up a collection box into which employees could put Christmas-themed envelopes containing gift vouchers. "We also set up a PayPal donation account so that our employees could easily take part in the campaign and make the sick children and their families happy," explains Dries. VAHLE would like to use the contributions to support the AKHD and continue its work, which is of the utmost importance to society, so that it can continue to provide affected families with help and advice in the future.
